ODM Deputy Party Leader and Kisii Governor Simba Arati has reiterated the party’s commitment to uphold the ideals of the broad-based arrangement established by President William Ruto and the late party leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking in Nakuru on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, during a meeting with ODM supporters, Arati said they will remain part of the broad-based government until 2027, as previously stated.

“We as those in the ODM party, we are in the broad-based government, and while there we will stay until 2027, anything else will be planned after that,” he said.

Arati emphasized that any future decisions regarding the party’s direction will be made after the current political arrangement concludes.

He also noted that the party is holding serious deliberations to sustain Raila Odinga’s political influence in the Mount Kenya region and beyond, to preserve his legacy.

“We have agreed as a party that Baba had many friends including Central Kenya, we want to make it possible that we get some elected leaders in the region and even in Rift Valley, North Eastern,” he said.

Arati added that during the last general election, Raila garnered over one million votes in the Mount Kenya region, and the party intends to maintain and build on that support base.

Earlier, the Kisii governor officially opened the ODM county office in Nakuru to serve the interests of residents in the county, which has more than one million registered voters according to the 2022 IEBC register.
