Sifuna terms ODM–UDA PG meeting a mockery of Raila’s legacy
Nairobi Senator and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has condemned the ongoing joint Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting between the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and United Democratic Alliance (UDA), who have met to review the 10-point agenda report, describing it as a blatant mockery of the late Raila Odinga’s legacy.
Taking it to his social media handles on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Sifuna accused leaders of the ODM and UDA parties of twisting the words and vision of Raila. Sifuna said that not following through on the 10-point agenda that President Ruto and Raila agreed on goes against the values that Raila stood for.

“Baba, they have woken up today to mock your legacy while swearing in your name. You do not have to be an English professor to understand what Baba wanted. It’s there in black and white,” Sifuna stated.
Sifuna said that the late Raila Odinga, who was known as “Baba”, had put in place systems to make sure that political processes were open and accountable. Sifuna said that progress reports were due every two months, and the last one was given to the public last Saturday.
“Now they are putting words in a dead man’s mouth. Give us a signal, Jakom!” Sifuna added.
Sifuna has criticised the ongoing ODM-UDA PG meeting, which is meant to talk about how to carry out collaborative parliamentary agendas. He says that the approach goes against the consultative and open style that Raila has always supported in his political career.
Sifuna’s opposition to ODM-UDA merger
Sifuna’s comments come at a time when there is a lot of talk about how the two parties can work together in Parliament. Some members have accused the leadership of ignoring established rules in favour of political theatrics.

Edwin Sifuna has become a well-known opponent of the 10-point agenda and the planned merger between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the ODM.
Sifuna has questioned the 10-point agenda, saying that it is mostly wishful thinking and doesn’t have clear deadlines, measurable goals, or ways to hold people accountable.
