Ruto, beware! Salasya predicts decisive win in 2027 presidential contest
By Cynthia Lodite, March 13, 2026Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has predicted a decisive win as the sixth president of Kenya, months after announcing his presidential ambitions.
The youthful legislator took to his official X account on Friday, March 13, 2026, announcing his firm grip on taking over as the president in the highly anticipated 2027 general elections.
“After all is said and done, I, Peter Kalerwa Salasya, will stand proudly on the presidential ballot as a candidate for the highest office in our land. The people of Kenya will rise in their numbers to choose me as their leader,” Salasya said.
Salasya, while pitching his ambitions, has explained why Kenyans deserve his leadership at the top political seat in the country.
On his part, the MP firmly noted that Kenya deserves a president who speaks truth, delivers results, and puts mwananchi first forever.
“I will win decisively, not by chance, but because the time for real transformation has come. Kenya deserves a president who speaks truth, delivers results, and puts mwananchi first forever,” he added.
“Victory is not a hope; it is our destiny. Together, we shall build the Kenya we have long dreamed of—one that is just, prosperous, and unstoppable,” Salasya said.

Presidential bid
The Mumias East legislator had announced that he would run for president in the 2027 general election, positioning himself as a fresh voice for a more inclusive and accountable Kenya.
Speaking in 2025, the MP said he would launch his bid under a new political movement yet to be named, promising to break away from traditional politics driven by tribal alliances and money.
“Fellow Kenyans, I will contest the presidency in 2027 under a new movement, one built on the dreams of a fair, inclusive, and forward-looking Kenya,” Salasya said.
“This will not be a party of billionaires or tribal lords, but a movement of the people.”
The Mumias East legislator called on Kenyans from all walks of life to join him in what he describes as a national rebirth.
“Let us make 2027 the year of Kenya’s rebirth,” he urged. “Let’s turn frustration into hope, despair into opportunity, and anger into action.”
If elected, Salasya pledged sweeping reforms, beginning with the healthcare system.
He promised to audit healthcare funding and ensure transparency and accountability, declaring that “health is not a luxury; it is a right.”
