Deputy President William Ruto has insisted that his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is the largest party in the country.

Citing the recent voting on Political Parties (Amendment) Bill 2021 in the National Assembly, Ruto said the party was able to mobilise 135 MPs against Handshake’s 155.

“UDA is the party of all Kenyans. We have MPs from all corners of this country. From Coast, North Eastern, Eastern, Nairobi, Nyanza, Western and Rift valley.

“They defeated us with only 20 MPs in the National Assembly recently,” Ruto during a rally in Eldoret on Saturday.

He also took a swipe at the government for ‘intimidating’ his allies into supporting Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga.

“They are using intimidation to push us to a certain corner. I am telling them that we will finish intimidation in this year’s election,” he said.

Ruto said that he was committed to building a national government that will work for all Kenyans.

“In our second term as Jubilee, we promised to deliver the Big 4 Agenda to the people of Kenya, but we did not because priorities changed from work to constitutional change to create positions for individuals,” he added.
