Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga is currently having an ‘intense’ meeting with Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka at an undisclosed location.

The meeting between the two leaders comes at a time when Azimio la Umoja movement and One Kenya Alliance have been having talks over a possible coalition ahead of the August general elections.

Earlier in the weeks, reports suggested that the talks about the possible coalition between the two formations are edging closer to an agreement ahead of the unveiling of the Azimio la Umoja presidential flag bearer on Saturday.

“The talks are going on so well, so far. We are in Azimio. There is no debate about that. Take that to the bank and get a loan,” KANU secretary general Nick Salat said as reported by a local publication.

A Wiper Party MP who sought anonymity since he was also not allowed to talk about the matter also told The Star that an agreement between OKA and Azimio may be reached tomorrow, Friday 9.

“Yes, progress is good and we hope everything will be in place by Friday,” the MP told the publication.

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo had also revealed that Kalonzo and Raila are set to personally meet today (Thursday) and Friday.

“The real meeting will be between the principals,” Senator Mutula said.

Though the details of the meeting are not yet known, Raila and Kalonzo are now said to be having a tense talk. The leaders are said to have been accompanied by Azimio la Umoja campaign secretariat spokesperson Prof Makau Mutua and Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana.
