Presidential aspirant Reuben Kigame decries threats from opponents

Presidential aspirant Reuben Kigame on Friday, January 11 raised concerns over what he termed as being threatened by section of politicians who want him not to vie.

In a statement on his Twitter account, Kigame said that he had gone to report the matter at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters located along Kiambu road.

“At the DCI Kenya headquarters to report an audio threat to my candidacy,” the post read in part.

In August 2021- Kigame announced that he will be running for presidency in this year’s election scheduled for August.

Kigame launched his presidential bid and laid out his agenda if elected to the country’s top seat.
The celebrated musician launched his campaign for the top seat at his birth place in Luanda constituency in Vihiga County.

The function was largely attended by members of Kigame’s clan and religious leaders from the vast county.

“Today I have gone to my people so that they give me their blessings as I head to all the 47 counties seeking votes,” said Kigame.

During his campaign launch, Kigame said that if he is elected he will govern the nation in a ‘godly’ way as he aims to get rid of corruption and eradicate poverty.

“We have very serious issues affecting the country. I will be offering alternative leadership based on religious faith and godly ways,” said Kigame.

The gospel musician will be battling it out with United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leader William Ruto, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) boss Raila Odinga.

Others are Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya leader Moses Masika Wetangula.
