Osotsi hits back at Gachagua over criticism of ODM party
ODM deputy party leader Godfrey Osotsi has hit out at Rigathi Gachagua over his recent onslaught on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Speaking in Bondo during the burial of Raila’s sister, Beryl Achieng Odinga, Ososti refuted Gachagua’s assertion that ODM was losing its hold in Nairobi as a party for associating with President William Ruto.
“Many are talking about the future of ODM. I heard a friend say we have become too weak and that we have no chance in Nairobi; that they will now invade our territories in Nairobi and make a hostile takeover now that Raila is not there. I want to tell him we may look weak, but we are still very strong,” he cautioned.
His remarks come after the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made a scathing appraisal of the future of the Orange party.
Speaking on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Gachagua advised the party’s top official to reconsider its association with Ruto, stating that it had come to the detriment of the party.

Gachagua stated that it has been in Ruto’s plan to finish the outfit and urged the party to remain alert to the ploy.
“Ruto has destroyed ODM, and we are very saddened. He told me that he would finish ODM while I was serving as his deputy,” he added.
He further warned that the recent by-election victories by his DCP party affirmed the dwindling status of the former dominant outfit, expressing dismay at what the party stands to benefit from clinging to Ruto.
“Ruto is killing ODM. My advice to ODM is that you will lose every seat in Nairobi if you keep following Ruto; he only has 24,000 votes in a corner here in Lang’ata in Nairobi. Where else will they get their seats from while clinging to Ruto?”He posed.
