Siaya Governor James Orengo has dismissed claims of division within the Linda Mwananchi movement.

Speaking on Sunday, July 12, 2026, during a church service at St Joseph’s Catholic Cathedral in Kisumu, Orengo maintained that Linda Mwananchi remains solid and unshaken.

“I have invited Edwin Sifuna, and there is another group in Nyahururu. But I wanted Sifuna to come here because there are a lot of people, including yesterday, who were talking about divisions within Linda Mwananchi,” Orengo stated.

“So today is to put you to shame that we are together, we are walking together, and we shall never be divided,” he added.

Orengo has been forced to address the claims following a series of reports that Linda Mwananchi leaders were not reading from the same page.

Edwin Sifuna echoed Governor Orengo’s remarks, urging the leaders to remain united.

“We must all remain united.. hata wakijaribu kuleta vitina gani, hatuachani,” Sifuna stated.

Another section in Nyahururu

As Sifuna and Orengo pitched camp in Kisumu, another section of Linda Mwananchi allied leaders attended a church service at AIPCA Nyahururu Cathedral.

Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi led the leaders to the service ahead of their rally later during the day.

This comes a day after Linda Mwananchi said it changed its campaign plans ahead of the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election, claiming there were plans to target its team with violence during engagements in the constituency.

The movement said it had decided to tour Nyahururu instead, adding that the move was intended to avoid what it described as efforts to create conditions that could disrupt the by-election.
