Ngunjiri claims Kindiki has surpassed Gachagua’s influence in Mt Kenya

By , November 28, 2025

Former Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has come out to state that Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has showcased that he has stronger political muscles than his predecessor, Rigathi Gachagua, after clinching the Mbeere North seat for the United Democratic Alliance.

While speaking during a video shared on his pages on Friday, November 28, 2025, Ngunjiri hailed Kindiki for his performance in the mini polls that secured UDA a win, saying that now the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who has often declared that he is the kingpin of the mountain, has known the real owner of the mountain.

According to Ngunjiri, the Mbeere North by-election was a battle between the current deputy president and the former deputy president, and Kindiki has now proven that he has his own constituency within the mountain and that he also has a huge following despite the constant dismissals from his predecessor.

Hata hii ya wamuthende, na watu wajuwe hata wewe uko na ground yako, yule aliyekuwa anasema yeye ni kiongozi ya Mt Kenya ajuwe you have more powers than him, kwa sababu uliweza kuprove na ii kiti ya Mbeere,” Ngunjiri stated.

He went on to heap praises on Kindiki, saying that he is the most hard-working deputy president in the history of the country, all the way from former presidents such as Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel Moi, and Uhuru Kenyatta, adding that Kindiki has always been out popularising the government’s agenda.

Yule mwingine ningepongeza sana ni Deputy President Kithure Kindiki. You have shown that you can lead. Umezunguka all 47 counties; hakuna pahali haujaenda. hakuna deputy president amezunguka kama wewe,” he added

Denouncing violence

He went ahead to condemn the violence that was experienced in some areas during the by-elections, saying that it was not warranted and that going forward, there is no need for bloodshed to prove a political point.

He also praised the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for delivering credible elections, saying that this was like a testing pad for the 2027 general polls and that they have proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they will deliver a just election.

These come on the heels of the just-concluded byelections.
