Nairobi: Azimio writes Show Cause letter to Jubilee MCA for allegedly associating with Kenya Kwanza

By , March 2, 2023

Kariobangi South MCA Robert Mbatia of the Jubilee party has been asked to explain his alleged misconduct following reports of his disloyalty to the Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition.

In a letter dated March 1, 2023, and signed by Nairobi County Assembly Majority Whip Moses Ogeto, the MCA has been asked to give reasons why disciplinary action should not be taken against him within seven working days.

The party leadership claims it has received several complaints about his alleged close association with the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

“Your unethical dalliance and open affection towards our rival coalition Kenya Kwanza as reported by your colleagues and other several royal members of the Azimio One Kenya coalition is treated as serious misconduct from your side.

“You are hereby asked to submit a written explanation of your conduct and provide us with a valid cause why disciplinary action should not be taken against you. It should reach the office of the Majority Party Whip within seven working days,” part of the letter reads.

This comes after he firmly stated that the defection of Jubilee Party-allied MPs from Azimio la Umoja is unstoppable.

“We can’t keep pretending to be at ease while our partners take advantage of us in plain daylight. None of the pre-election agreements has been followed through on, “Mbatia had been quoted as having said.

Mbatia further claimed that ODM had bypassed the Jubilee party by allocating all of the critical and significant seats at the county assembly to the party.

“We’ve had enough, and our exit is unstoppable. A lot will happen in the following days. We can’t keep working with people who believe they are entitled to every seat in the county assembly.”
