As the Mbeere North minipoll enters its final stretch, former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has delivered a powerful endorsement of Democratic Party candidate Newton Karish, marking what appears to be a defining shift in the constituency’s political landscape.

Speaking through a detailed Facebook post on Sunday, November 23, 2025, Muturi portrayed the unfolding events as both emotional and historic, suggesting that the people of Mbeere North had already shown where their confidence lies.

“The crowds, the energy, and the determination we witnessed affirmed one thing: the people are ready for leadership that listens, leadership that serves, and leadership that puts their interests first,” Muturi posted on Facebook.

Muturi emphasised that the rally demonstrated unmistakable energy, describing it as a moment when the voice of the people rang louder than ever.

He noted that Mbeere North’s residents appeared to be rallying behind leadership that truly listens, responds and commits to public service grounded in integrity.

Underlining Karish’s steady rise, Muturi praised the candidate’s discipline, composure and deep connection with locals, arguing that these traits position him as the transformative leader the community has long awaited.

“Our candidate, Hon. Newton Kariuki, continues to demonstrate the discipline, courage, and clarity required to move Mbeere North forward.

“His connection with the people is undeniable, and the warm reception he received today is a clear sign that the ground has already shifted,” Muturi said.

He also said the reception Karish received, pointing out how the crowd’s reactions, women ululating, elders nodding in approval, and young people chanting his name, painted a clear picture of shifting political tides.

Gachagua asked Mbeere North locals to guard the votes

Additionally, the Democracy for Citizens’ Party leader, Rigathi Gachagua, reaffirmed that the people’s choice would be safeguarded.

He assured locals that every vote would be protected from interference, telling supporters that their only task was to show up and vote while his team handled the security of the ballots.
