Muturi elated as opposition figures grace his book’s launch
By Ascah Mwango, November 8, 2025Former Attorney General Justin Muturi has expressed delight after prominent opposition leaders attended the launch of his new book, The Fight for Order, on Thursday, November 7, 2025.
The event, which brought together key political figures from across the divide, was hailed as a moment of reflection and unity in Kenya’s often polarised political landscape.
In his remarks, Muturi described the launch as one of the defining moments of his public life, bringing together leaders, scholars, and citizens united by a shared interest in Kenya’s political evolution and governance.
“Today’s launch of my book, The Fight for Order, will remain one of the most memorable milestones of my public life,” Muturi said.
Adding;
“The event brought together leaders, scholars, friends, and citizens who share a deep interest in Kenya’s political evolution and governance.”
He expressed gratitude to Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who served as the Chief Guest, acknowledging his “thoughtful remarks, wisdom, and long-standing contribution to our nation’s political stability.”
Muturi also thanked former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, and other dignitaries for gracing the occasion.
“Your presence spoke volumes — a reminder that Kenya’s story, though often marked by sharp contestations, is still one of dialogue, reflection, and a shared pursuit of order and progress,” he noted.
In his statement, Gachagua praised Muturi as “a man of order besides his razor-sharp forthrightness,” lauding The Fight for Order as a bold and insightful exploration of leadership and governance in Africa.
He said the book delves into “the classical power intrigues, the economy of statecraft, and the need for honest leadership,” themes that resonate deeply across African nations grappling with corruption, weak institutions, and eroding democratic values.
“This is more so in typical African countries embalmed in a cacophony of bad leadership, poor policymaking machinations, abuse of the rule of law, and outright dishonesty,” Gachagua stated.

He commended Muturi for using his pen to challenge the misuse of power and to offer an honest reflection on the consequences of unchecked authority.
“JB’s work is an account of courage, an African dawn, and a true reflection of how damaging uncontrolled power can be to an innocent nation with a dream and hope for its peace,” Gachagua added. “You have demonstrated that a pen is mightier than a gun.”
Muturi, in closing, thanked readers and supporters for their continued interest, noting that The Fight for Order is not just his personal story but a collective reflection of Kenya’s moral and political journey.
“To the many friends, readers, and colleagues who filled the hall with energy and curiosity, thank you. You are the reason this work exists,” he said. “The Fight for Order is not just my story; it is a mirror held up to our collective journey as a nation — our struggles, lessons, and the unending quest to build a functional and just society.”
He urged Kenyans to continue engaging constructively and to believe in the country’s capacity to rise above its challenges.
“As we turn each page, may we continue to engage constructively, question boldly, and, above all, believe in Kenya’s ability to rise beyond,” Muturi said.
