Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has announced that President William Ruto will soon tour Vihiga County to issue land title deeds, as he urged residents to rally behind the government’s development agenda and support the implementation of key national programmes.

Speaking during the Tiriki Elders Meeting at Kaimosi University in Vihiga County on Saturday, July 11, 2026, Mudavadi said the government was also prioritising affordable housing and other development projects aimed at improving the livelihoods of residents.

He said preparations were underway for the president’s visit, during which land ownership documents would be issued to beneficiaries.

Title deeds, housing top agenda

Mudavadi said access to land ownership remains a key pillar of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s development agenda, adding that the government was committed to resolving long-standing land ownership challenges.

“I want to tell you that we are planning for President William Ruto to come and issue title deeds here. Kaimosi also needs affordable housing, and these are some of the development programmes the government is implementing,” he said.

He urged residents to continue supporting ongoing government projects, saying they were intended to spur economic growth and improve living standards.

Calls for unity behind Ruto

The Prime Cabinet Secretary also praised President Ruto’s leadership on the regional and continental stage, saying Kenya had continued to earn international recognition under his administration.

“Kenya’s reputation has gone far beyond our borders. President Ruto is now a voice not just for Kenya but for Africa. That respect has come because of teamwork,” Mudavadi said.

He cautioned leaders against engaging in divisive politics, urging them instead to focus on development and national unity.

Mudavadi further appealed to voters to ensure the President has sufficient support in Parliament to pass government Bills and policies.

“I want to ensure President Ruto has enough Members of Parliament so that his motions pass in Parliament and his policies are implemented. We cannot afford to weaken the President in public,” he said.

Development drive in Vihiga

Mudavadi’s remarks came hours after he toured Mudete Tea Factory in Vihiga County, where he encouraged young people to embrace tea farming as a profitable enterprise.

During the visit, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reforms aimed at increasing farmers’ earnings, improving bonus payments, expanding export markets and strengthening Kenya’s globally competitive tea industry.

He maintained that agriculture, affordable housing, secure land ownership and infrastructure development remain central to the government’s plan to accelerate economic growth and improve livelihoods across the country.
