Nyali Member of Parliament (MP) Mohammed Ali has shared moments from a festive get-together with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his family at the Coast.

In a light-hearted social media post on Sunday, December 28, 2025, Ali described the meeting as a joyful holiday reunion, praising the warm hospitality, good food, and family atmosphere.

The video accompanying the caption showed the lawmaker relaxed and cheerful alongside the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader and his family, enjoying a sumptuous lunch and casual conversation in what appeared to be a beach hotel.

“Had a pleasant time with @rigathi this afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed the scrumptious lunch prepared and the opportunity to catch up with a dear friend and his family. Si Mliringa kunialika Sikukuu. Leo ni sherehe full kipupwe, kula, kucheka na ku jienjoy. Happy Holidays Wakenya Wenzangu,” the former journalist wrote on X.

Gachagua-Mohammed Ali dalliance

This is, however, not the first time the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) lawmaker has been hanging out with Gachagua.

In October, Gachagua commended Ali moments after the UDA lawmaker fuelled speculation about his political future by joining the company of prominent opposition leaders.

Taking to his official X account on Saturday, October 4, 2025, Gachagua noted that the former journalist displayed exemplary vision and talent rare for a politician of his age.

“It was great to have spent my Saturday with Moha catching up from our days in the 12th parliament. Moha is one of the young, talented leaders I am mentoring,” he said.

“He has a great future as a leader for the Coast Region and Kenya. I am very impressed by his great ideas on mobilising the Coast region to liberate our country,” he added.

Gachagua also hailed the second-time MP for his resilience while nursing a nagging injury that hampered his responsibility as a lawmaker.

“I thank God for healing my great friend Hon Mohamed Ali, aka Jicho Pevu, who has struggled with a serious knee injury for almost a year after multiple surgeries, denying him the opportunity to serve the people of Nyali Constituency,” he stated.
