Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has on Friday, March 25, 2022, joined Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Democratic Movement party. Sonko’s defection comes against the backdrop of his recent resignation from the ruling Jubilee Party.

Sonko was received by the top brass of the Wiper party leadership at the outfit’s headquarters.

“The Buffalo gang is growing by the day! This evening, flagged by Wiper Party Chairman Chirau Ali Mwakwere, SG Shakila Abdalla, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua and Embakasi South Mp Julius Mawathe, we received the immediate former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to the Wiper family,” Kalonzo posted.

The former county head was in the recent past flattering with members of Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance party and seemed to be warming up for the political formation. His latest political move will now see him back ODM leader Raila Odinga who is the presidential candidate of the Azimio La Umoja movement, which brings together Kalonzo’s Wiper party and a host of political parties.
