Jubilee Deputy Party Leader and 2027 presidential flag bearer Fred Matiang’i has pledged to work with leaders across the political divide in a push to build what he described as a more united, fair, and inclusive Kenya.

Taking to his official X account on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Matiang’i promised Kenyans that he would embrace humility and cooperation in his leadership approach.

Promise of inclusive leadership

The former CS said he was ready to collaborate with leaders and movements from different political formations, including the United Opposition and the Linda Mwananchi movement.

He added that his focus would be on fostering national unity and creating equal opportunities for all Kenyans, regardless of political affiliation.

Ninawahakikishia, sitawaangusha.

Matiang’i had also made an assurance to the Jubilee Party delegates in Kiambu during a meeting that was attended by party leader and retired president Uhuru Kenyatta, on Monday, May 25, 2026.

Focus on unity and justice

According to Matiang’i, the country needs leadership that prioritises fairness, inclusion, and national cohesion at a time when political tensions continue to rise.

He said leaders from different camps must work together in addressing challenges facing ordinary citizens and in shaping a stable future for the country.

The former Interior CS further stressed the need for a Kenya where every citizen feels represented and empowered.

Matiang’i’s remarks come amid increasing political realignments and consultations within opposition circles as leaders begin positioning themselves for the next General Election.

The mention of both the United Opposition and the Linda Mwananchi movement signals ongoing efforts among anti-government factions to build broader political cooperation ahead of 2027.

Political alliance with Sifuna

Matiang’i had earlier sparked fresh political speculation after sharing a message widely interpreted as a signal of possible cooperation with Nairobi senator and Linda Mwananchi movement leader Edwin Sifuna ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Taking to his official X account on Friday, May 15, 2026, night, Matiang’i, who has pledged to fix the country and engage Gen Z if he forms the government in 2027, emphasised unity, inclusivity, and a shared national agenda, saying Kenya’s future depends on cooperation among leaders committed to reform and good governance.

“For a better future for Kenya, a country governed by the rule of law, sovereignty, and inclusivity, we will work with everyone committed to helping us fix the nation,” Matiang’i stated.

He added that like-minded leaders would work together to design a long-term governance framework aimed at stabilising the country.

“Together, we will draw the blueprint and lay a strong foundation for a better Kenya for present and future generations,” Matiang’i captioned his photos with Sifuna.
