Matiangi engages Kisii Council of Elders, pledges unity and respect in politics

In a statement shared on X on Thursday, March 19, 2026, after meeting the Kisii Council of Elders in his Nyamira home, Matiangi expressed his appreciation for the elders’ guidance and pointed out the role of unity and respect in shaping political discourse and community cohesion.

“I was honored to receive a courtesy visit from the Kisii Council of Elders at our home in Nyamira County,” Matiangi stated.
The Jubilee flag bearer further acknowledged the elders’ ongoing support, pledging to uphold principles of dignity, cohesion, and decency in his political engagements and leadership approach, adding that there is a need to build a future that is grounded in respect, cohesion and purpose.
“I appreciate their blessings, counsel, and continued prayers. I fully subscribe to their commitment to unity, dignity, and decency in politics. Together, we will build a future grounded in respect, cohesion, and purpose,” Matiangi added.
Matiangi pointed out the need for collaborative effort as the community and political leadership prepare for future initiatives and decision-making processes in the county and beyond. He went on to call for collective responsibility and action to ensure that community and political objectives are met in a manner that strengthens local governance and societal values.

“Let us move forward in unity as we prepare for the journey ahead. Let’s fix it,” Matiangi said.
Matiangi said his engagement with the Kisii Council of Elders shows the importance of grassroots leadership structures in promoting social cohesion, political accountability, and community-driven development in the region.
