Matiang’i calls for unity, harmony in Jubilee ahead of 2027 election

By , November 17, 2025

Jubilee deputy party leader Fred Matiang’i has asked members of the political formation to unite and work as a team ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking at party headquarters in Nairobi, on Monday, November 17, 2025, while meeting grassroots leaders drawn from across the country, the former Interior Cabinet Secretary said the party’s agenda is to deliver the presidency in the next general election and transform the lives of Kenyans.

As the party’s preferred presidential flag bearer in the particular polls, Matinag’i used the opportunity to urge the leaders to be good ambassadors of the party at the grassroots, saying that by doing so, the dream of clinching the presidency will be alive.

Party unity

Chama, na uongozi wa chama, na vile tunaendelea mbele ni kama ule mtihani unaitwa MOCK, my brothers and sisters, if you forget everything I have told you today, do not forget this. We will not go to convince Kenyans to entrust us with government when we cannot manage ourselves as a party. So bear in mind, wherever you go, that we are looking for leadership,” Matiang’i said.

“I believe this campaign that we are going to involve ourselves in, we are going to conquer this time around with love. Sisi hatuwezi ingia kwa hiyo mambo ya kutukanana na watu. That is not the standard of Jubilee; that is below the standard of Jubilee. It is not our business to describe other political parties; our business is to work or argue with them, or convince them so that we move forward together,” he added.

Following the agenda

Similarly, while making his remarks on Sunday, November 9, 2025, during a Mass at Karuri Parish in Kiambaa, Kiambu County, Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni reaffirmed the party’s commitment to national reform, urging a return to ethical leadership and people-centred governance.

Kioni took to X, saying, “Our mission is clear: to serve, to rebuild, and to rescue our country from the weight of broken promises.” He also quoted Proverbs 29:2, saying, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people mourn,” linking the scripture to the party’s renewed drive for moral leadership.

Fred Matiang’i and Jeremiah Kioni’s assertions match the main agenda of the Jubilee Party’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) held on September 26, 2025, at Ngong Racecourse, chaired by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
