Makueni Deputy governor accuses her boss Kivutha Kibwana of oppression after she moved to Ruto’s UDA party
Makueni Deputy Governor Adelina Mwau has accused his boss Professor Kivutha Kibwana of denying her constitutional right to join a political front of her choice.
Speaking on Monday, January 31, Mwau said that after her defection to Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) she was stripped of her official role as the county’s Health Minister and that her official car was also withdrawn.
Mwau who spoke in Kati, Makueni, after she met women groups also stated that she received an official letter informing her of the changes.
“Governor Kivutha is known as a defender of human rights worldwide and that is why I’m very surprised by his action. I cannot say that I have wronged the governor or the other way round,” Mwau said.
The DG was elected into office in 2013 on a joint Muungano party ticket with Governor Kibwana before they won the seat using Wiper party in 2017.
She joined DP Ruto’s UDA last week.
