Linda Mwananchi leaders regroup in Nakuru ahead of major rally
By Mabonga Makhanu, April 19, 2026Linda Mwananchi‘s team is currently regrouping in Nakuru ahead of a massive rally scheduled to be held at Mazembe Grounds.
In photos shared by activist Abigael Gikonyo, a member of the Linda Mwananchi team, on Sunday, April 19, 2026, the group led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna was seen holding strategy sessions as they prepared for their initial stopover at Kivumbini PAG, where they will hold a fellowship ahead of the rally.

The team arrived earlier on Saturday, April 18, 2026, where, overnight, various leaders held separate meetings with different groups from Nakuru.
Siaya Governor James Orengo was seen engaging with the Luo Council of Elders from Nakuru, while Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi held a separate meeting with what he described as Linda Mwananchi grassroots leaders from the county.

Linda Mwananchi itinerary
After the Nakuru chapter, the Linda Mwananchi team will head to Kisumu on April 26, 2026. Before that, on April 25, 2026, they will hold a series of rallies in Vihiga County, starting from Shamakhokho in Hamisi Constituency, then Majengo Market, and culminating at Luanda Market, the home area of Godfrey Osotsi, where they will hold a prayer rally.
The following day, they will make what Osotsi describes as a “triumphant entry” into Kisumu City for their rally, which they say will be historic.
After the Kisumu chapter, they will proceed to Homa Bay for another rally, followed by several other rallies in Siaya, before culminating the first phase of the Linda Mwananchi political activities.
Origin of Linda Mwananchi
The Linda Mwananchi faction, a subsidiary of the ODM party comprising rebels within the party opposed to its current direction, was formed after the mainstream ODM led by Oburu Odinga insisted on supporting President William Ruto.

This prompted Edwin Sifuna and a section of like-minded leaders to form a faction opposed to Linda Ground, which is led by Oburu Odinga. In recent times, the ODM party has been marked by cracks and fragmentation, something that Suba South MP Caroli Omondi had earlier predicted, saying that the Orange party would be split into two – one faction retaining official party structures and documents, while the other leaves with supporters.
Siaya Governor James Orengo, who is also an integral member of the Linda Mwananchi team, has expressed confidence in the Sifuna-led faction, saying that theirs is the side that carries the true spirit of Raila Odinga and that, if he were alive, he would have joined their team.
