Linda Mwananchi confirms Trans Nzoia, Bungoma weekend meetings
By Ndiritu Wanjiru, July 24, 2026The Linda Mwananchi movement has confirmed that it will hold public engagement forums in Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties this weekend as it continues its nationwide grassroots mobilisation campaign.
The meetings will bring together residents, local leaders and supporters to discuss governance, leadership and issues affecting ordinary Kenyans.
According to an announcement shared by the movement on Friday, July 24, 2026, by Suba South MP and Linda Mwananchi spokesperson Caroli Omondi, the engagements will be held under the movement’s slogan, “Tupatane. Tujadiliane Tujipange“, which encourages Kenyans to meet, deliberate and organise around issues of national importance.
The Trans Nzoia forum is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026, while the Bungoma meeting will take place on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Residents have been invited to attend the sessions and participate in discussions aimed at collecting public views on governance, accountability, economic challenges and the country’s political future.
TIFA – Majority of ODM supporters back Linda Mwananchi camp
The announcement comes hours after a TIFA opinion poll indicated that a majority of ODM supporters now back the Linda Mwananchi faction over the rival Linda Ground camp. The survey suggested that the movement, which is associated with ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna and his allies, has continued to gain traction among the party’s supporters.
The latest meetings are expected to strengthen the movement’s presence in Western Kenya, a region regarded as politically significant ahead of the 2027 general election. Linda Mwananchi has in recent months rolled out similar public forums in different parts of the country as it seeks to build a nationwide grassroots network.
The movement says the town hall meetings are designed to provide ordinary Kenyans with an opportunity to directly engage leaders and voice concerns over issues such as the high cost of living, unemployment, corruption, healthcare, education and constitutional reforms.
The organisers have maintained that the initiative is intended to promote issue-based politics and encourage greater public participation in national affairs.
