Senate Speaker Amason Kingi has asserted that President William Ruto faces no competition in the 2027 elections, as there is no single person capable of matching his development record.

Speaking in Mt Elgon, Bungoma County, on Thursday, December 4, 2025, the speaker stated Ruto’s administration had seen the country make significant development, leaving him with no serious contender to challenge him.

2027 elections

“In 2027, we have looked around, but we have not seen anyone capable of challenging Ruto. Have you seen any? We will have a competition without a competitor in 2027.”

“Ruto will emerge as the first, the second, and also the third. We are saying this because of what he has accomplished. In two years of this administration, this country has made progress, and because of that, we pray for him,” he stated.

While lauding the policies under the Kenya Kwanza regime, Kingi urged the residents of Mt Elgon to rally behind the president’s vision to transform Kenya.

“Ruto’s vision to transform this country can make you tear up. He is clear on his vision, and I urge you to rally behind his vision to transform this country from third world to first world,” he added.

His remarks come after Saitabao Ole Kanchory claimed that Ruto could still win the 2027 general elections despite his mounting unpopularity.

In a post on X on Sunday, November 30, 2025, the former presidential chief agent of the late Raila Odinga in the 2022 poll stated that a further stay in power by Ruto could happen through the country’s electoral system, which he claimed has been compromised for years and remains vulnerable.

Kanchory predicts Ruto’s win

Kanchory insisted that election outcomes in Kenya are shaped by control of electoral structures rather than votes cast.

“William Ruto is no doubt the most unpopular president in the history of Kenya. However, because we have normalised electoral fraud, our politics is not a popularity contest. It is a game of numbers, and whoever can play with the numbers wins. It’s that simple; everything else is hot air,” he wrote.
