Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, on Monday, August 11, 2025, stepped up his criticism of the broad-based government with a subtle dig regarding the functioning of the five-month-long government arrangement.

Taking to his X page, Khalwale posted a picture of an ongoing road project beside a body of water, which he claimed is being undertaken in Rusinga Island in Homa Bay County.

Khalwale challenged his followers on the platform to engage him on whether they have experienced or witnessed such development projects in their areas.

Broad-based working

“Good people of Western, kumbe hii kitu ya broad-based government is working in some places! Habari ya kwenu? These are the new roads in Rusinga, Homabay,” his statement on X read.

His sentiments come barely days after the senator sensationally claimed that the onset of the broad-based government system came at the detriment of the Luhya community.

In a statement on his X page on Friday, August 8, 2025, Khalwale bemoaned how the cooperation between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga had worked in sidelining the Mulembe Community despite the fact that the community supported Ruto’s reelection.

“I want to tell you because they have started politics this early; I see ODM and the UDA that I brought here are now working together. In the arrangement, if you look keenly, there is nothing for us, even if you ask Mudavadi or Wetang’ula,” he stated.

He further signaled a new political outfit that would cater to and address the concerns of their people.

Ndio namuomba that God has been nice to me to bring me this far,” Valuya Mtu asiwatumie tena. Nataka vile wameanza kujipanga ivo, mimi nmezungumza na Natambeya, na tunapanga yetu pia,”

“I want to plead with you that you let no one take advantage of you again. Now that they have started strategising, I have been in talks with Natembeya, and we are also hatching a plan for our people. If anyone wants us to work together, let him approach us,” he stated.

Hio mananeno walikuwa wanatumia kutupnage sa hizi nmetibua na hatutaenda ODM tena wala UDA,” he added.
