Kenya Kwanza brigade yesterday promised to end the historical land problems in Lamu and the wider Coast.

Led by the Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula, the politicians rallied coast residents to vote for Deputy President William Ruto for the presidency in the August elections.

Wetang’ula said Lamu was a small county that should not continue enduring historical injustices and marginalisation.

He said the government will use the Equalisation Fund to ensure the county benefits from irrigation and supply of fresh water.

“If we form the next  government we will unite Kenyans and because we know Lamu region is suffering from land problems.

“Our government will allocate resources to ensure issuance of title deeds, we will sit with your government and ensure we solve the problem by ensuring that community land is protected,” said Wetang’ula.

“We will ensure that this region will benefit from the proceeds of Lamu port. We will ensure 50 per cent of the youth are employed at Lamu port and build their economies,” he said.

Wetang’ula who led the Kenya Kwanza brigade in their second day of the coastal tour said the outfit was fully prepared to deliver the next government to be led by Ruto.

“We want to elect a humble president who comes from a poor family, a president who understands the problems of Kenyans because he went through them and who means well for the country,” said Wetang’ula.

He said the Kenya Kwanza is focused on asking Kenyans not to gamble with their votes.

Wetang’ula said the Azimio candidate Raila Odinga had no agenda.
