Kanini Kega dresses as Kikuyu elder to receive Raila in Nyeri
Kieni MP Kanini Kega has reiterated his support for Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga.
In a message shared on his Social Media page, Kega posed for a photo next to a chopper dressed as a Kikuyu Elder.
“This is a Kikuyu Elder heading to Nyeri to receive the 5th!”
Kega has openly shown his support for Raila’s presidential bid publicly stating that he is ready to lose his Parliamentary seat as the ultimate price he must pay for his belief in a Raila presidency.
“I am prepared to lose Kieni parliamentary seat if campaigning for Baba is the reason. I will not stop even if the rest of my colleagues from this region are playing safe politics, I will campaign for Raila till the last rally in 2022,” Kega said on November 3.
On Friday, Raila will tour Nyeri County for two days hosting a series of Azimio la Umoja events while meeting stakeholders from the region.
ODM Nyeri County chairman Wachira Maina said Raila would be accompanied by a delegation of elders from the Luo Council who would be hosted by their counterparts from Kikuyu Council.
Wachira said the first meeting will involve 600 elders drawn from two formations, the Kikuyu Council of Elders and the Kiama Kiama, and another 600 elders from the Luo Council.
