Moses Kuria announces nomination fees for his party slots, favours women, youth
Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria’s Chama Cha Kazi has announced the party’s nomination fee schedule.
The schedule, signed by its National Elections Board Chairman Dr Michel Wakenda, was announced on Wednesday, February 2.
According to the schedule, anyone seeking a Presidential nomination ticket will have to part with Ksh1 million for men and Ksh500,000 for women and youth.
For those seeking to run for Governorship; men are asked to pay Ksh500,000 while women and youth are to part with Ksh250,000.
Men seeking to be Senators are to pay Ksh250,000 while the women and youth were asked to pay Ksh125,000.
Those seeking to run for the Woman Representative position are required to pay Ksh200,000 for women above the age of 35 and Ksh100,000 for the youth.
Men running for parliamentary seats are required to pay Ksh200,000 as women and youth pay Ksh100,000.
For those seeking Ward Representative positions, men are to pay Ksh40,000 while women and youth are to pay Ksh20,000.
The Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs) seeking any positions (Presidential, Governorship, Senatorial, Woman Representative, Parliamentary and Ward Representative) will pay zero nomination fees.
According to Dr Wakenda, all Chama Cha Kazi party members should submit their applications for the various elective seats on or before March 1.
“Chama Cha Kazi invites all interested and qualified aspirants to submit their application for nomination on or before March 1,” he said, adding that the interested persons should apply through the party’s online portal.
This comes just a day after Deputy President William Ruto’s, United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party also released its party nomination fee requirements.
