Kalonzo, Raila meet ahead of Jubilee, ODM NDCs

ODM leader Raila Odinga on Thursday met Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka at Multimedia University ahead of ODM and Jubilee Party’s National Delegates Convention (NDC) set for Friday, February 25.
The two leaders met during an NDC event for Cyrus Jirongo’s United Democratic Party (UDP).
The meeting a day before ODM and Jubilee Party – two major parties with Raila-led Azimio la Umoja movement – hold their NDCs where they are planning to make major political announcements.
According to reports, one of the major announcements that might come out from the NDCs is the official announcement that One Kenya Alliance principals will work with Azimio la Umoja ahead of the August general election.
Though both political sides have noted that they are willing to work together in the coming elections, Kalonzo Musyoka has noted that they will not be in a hurry to join Raila’s side.
The Wiper leader noted that though he is interested in working with like-minded individuals like the Azimio la Umoja, there must be a structured and honest conversation in the formation of the coalition.
“We in One Kenya Alliance (OKA) believe in the unity of our country. And if I heard correctly, I believe Azimio la Umoja is also speaking the same language of national unity but we are stressing honesty in engagement,” Kalonzo said.
“This time around we will get this equation right so that this country will be forever free and leadership to seen to be what it is; a beacon of hope, the clarity of mind .”
On his side, Gideon Moi asked their supporters to be patient with them noting that are working on a formation that will last for the longest time possible.
“We want a formation that is built on a strong foundation, a formation that the next generation can admire. We want to assure you and other Kenyans that there are those we can do business with and those we can’t do,” Moi said.
