Wiper Democratic Movement party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka has weighed in on the Kenya Kwanza Cabinet Secretaries (CS) nominees.

Taking to his X account, on Friday, August 2, 2024, Kalonzo stated that Kenyans have no faith in the four nominees from the ruling coalition.

The four are part of the 21 nominees currently undergoing vetting by the Committee on Appointments and were appointed by President William Ruto to be part of his broad-based cabinet

“We have no faith in KK Cabinet Secretaries nominees,” he said.

Kenya Kwanza CS nominees

Here are the Kenya Kwanza nominees expected to be part of the broad-based cabinet if approved and appointed.

1. Alice Wahome

Wahome who is a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kandara Constituency in the March 2013 General Election and successfully defended her seat in the 2017 and 2022 elections before resigning from her seat to join the cabinet.

She served as the CS for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation before being dismissed in July 2024.

Wahome currently is a CS nominee for Lands.

2. Aden Duale

Duale was elected as an MP for the Garissa Township constituency in the 2022 General Election under the Kenya Kwanza coalition before resigning from his seat to join the cabinet.

He served as the CS four defence before being dismissed and later named as CS nominee for Environment.

3. Kipchumba Murkomen

The three-time elected senator for Elgeyo Marakwet County is an active member of the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Murkomen served as a CS for transport in the previous before dismissal and was later nominated.

If approved and appointed, Murlomen will serve as CS for sports replacing Ababu Namwamba.

3. Roselinda Soipan Tuya

Soipan previously served as the Woman Representative for Narok County having been elected in April 2013 and retained her seat in 2017.

In the 2022 General Election, Soipan had to suspend her quest for Narok County governorship after she was asked by the UDA party to step down for Patrick Ntutu.

She served as the CS for Environment and was later dismissed in July 2024 and later nominated as CS nominee for Defence.
