Kalonzo challenges Raila to declare who he is working for
Former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka has challenged ODM leader Raila Odinga to decide whether he is with Kenyans or against them as he cements his working relations with the Kenya Kwanza government.
Without specifically mentioning Odinga’s name, Musyoka said Kenyans are wise enough to determine the leaders working for their interests.
“HakunaWajingaKenya; you are either for the people of Kenya or against them! It’s a simple as that!” he said.
The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition co-leader spoke after attending a Sunday service at AIC Makongeni Church in Thika, Kiambu County.
Musyoka was accompanied by former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu, Jubilee party secretary general Jeremiah Kioni, DAP-Kenya arty leader Eugene Wamalwa, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua, Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo, Machakos Woman Rep Joyce Kameme and lawyer Ndegwa Njiru, among others.
Musyoka asked Kenyans to stand firm, especially at this time of uncertainty. “There will be a lot of lies, but you will see what God will do,” he said.
State of the nation
Alluding to the state of the nation, Musyoka said that he and others had been a mortuary and seen Kenyans whose bodies were riddled with police bullets. He added that they had also visited the injured at hospitals.
“We cannot pretend all is well. #HakunaWajingaKenya. As Wamalwa has so clearly put it, you’re either with Gen Z and the people of Kenya or against them. It’s as simple as that,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Wamalwa said all was not well in Azimio. “There are those who say Zakayo must go and then those who say Zakayo must stay. There are irrevocable differences,” Wamalwa added.
He added: “We are saying you cannot have both!”
Wamalwa said that As President Mwai Kibaki’s principal assistant, Wamalwa said, Musyoka played a critical role in ending the 2007 post-election violence and returning Kenya from the brink of disaster politically and economically.
Mt Kenya leaders from Kiambu, Nyeri, and Nairobi counties who attended the church srevice reminded the congregation of Musyoka’s track record.
Expressing regret for joining the UDA bandwagon and ignoring the advice of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, the leaders said they had been sold lies by Ruto. They said the economy had stagnated, businesses had closed down, and unemployment and the cost of living were rising.
