This momentous occasion positions the Democratic Party as a strong, united force ready to lead the country ahead of the 2027 General Election. Together, we rise, we unite, and we move boldly toward a Kenya of opportunity, justice, and prosperity.”

By-elections
This comes days after the party performed poorly during the Mbeere North by-election, where their candidate, Newton Karish, was defeated by a razor-thin margin by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party candidate, Leonard Wamuthende, in the concluded by-election on November 27, 2025.

The party is also set to make a comeback in Evurore Ward, where they gave the ticket to Albert Muchira Kigoro, who has already been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to contest in the upcoming February 26, 2025, by-election. Their candidate is set to face Duncan Muratia of the UDA party.
The Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP-BUS), led by Lenny Kivuitu, has also fielded a candidate in Muminji Ward, Boniface Kariuki, who is set to face UDA’s Peterson Njiru in the ward by-election, among other candidates, including Martha Karua’s PLP party candidate, Joseph Njiru.
