Justin Muturi: Working in Ruto’s govt was greatest mistake
By Joel Masibo, November 11, 2025Former Attorney General Justin Muturi has aimed a slight dig at the government, stating that the system thought he would disappear after relieving him of his duties as the country’s Public Service Cabinet Secretary.
The former Public Service Cabinet Secretary fell out with President William Ruto at a time when abduction cases in the country were rampant at the beginning of the year, months after his son was kidnapped on June 22, 2024, by armed hooded men along Dennis Pritt Road in Nairobi’s Kilimani area.
The Head of State sacked Muturi as the Public Service CS in March 2025 in a cabinet reshuffle.

From that point, Justin Muturi pitched camp in the United Opposition, where he has been on a continuous attack against the current Kenya Kwanza regime, insisting that it has many shortcomings and that President William Ruto should not be re-elected in the 2027 presidential polls for failing to deliver his mandate as the country’s leader.
Life goes
Taking to X on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Muturi said life is going on well after getting sacked, insisting that fighting for the rights of the citizens is not all a fault.
”I was sacked, thinking I would get lost, instead life goes on. Fighting for the rights of Kenyans is not a fault, and being employed in this government was a big mistake,” Muturi said.
Muturi’s remarks come shortly after he launched his ‘The Fight for Order’ book on Friday, November 7, 2025, at an event that brought together leaders, scholars, friends, and citizens who, according to Muturi, share a deep interest in Kenya’s political evolution and governance.

Book launch
”I extend my heartfelt gratitude to H.E. Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka, who graciously honoured us as the Chief Guest. His thoughtful remarks, wisdom, and long-standing contribution to our nation’s political stability deeply enriched the occasion. I also wish to sincerely thank H.E. Hon. Rigathi Gachagua, Dr Fred Matiang’i, Hon. Eugene Wamalwa, and many other distinguished leaders who joined us to celebrate this intellectual journey,” Justin Muturi said.
”The Fight for Order is not just my story; it is a mirror held up to our collective journey as a nation, our struggles, lessons, and the unending quest to build a functional and just society. As we turn each page, may we continue to engage constructively, question boldly, and, above all, believe in Kenya’s capacity to rise beyond the ordinary,” he added.
Justin Muturi has forces with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, former Cabinet Secretaries Eugene Wamalwa and Fred Matiang’i, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, and People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua against President William Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027.
