Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has expressed confidence in the Mbeere North Member of Parliament candidate in the scheduled Thursday, November 27, 2025, by-election Newton Karish.

Speaking in Embu Town on Sunday, November 16, 2025, Muturi revealed that the masses that showed up while the United Opposition team was drumming up support for the Democratic Party (DP) flag bearer in the mini polls is an indication that victory is on the horizon.

Karish, a former musician, faces strong opposition from United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Leo wa Muthende; however, the opposition remains bullish about overcoming the challenges and clinching the seat.

Warm reception

Following the warm reception of the United Opposition by the Mbeere North residents, Justin Muturi has predicted victory for Newton Karish, insisting that the electorate has decided their way ahead of the by-election.

”Our people have made it clear, they are ready to take back their voice, their dignity, and their future. As a son of this soil, I have never seen Mbeere North this bold, this united, this determined,” Justin Muturi took to X on Sunday.

Earlier, the opposition accused UDA of using state machinery to intimidate Newton Karish and his followers heading into the democratic exercise. In the change of tune, Justin Muturi has also confirmed that Mbeere North residents have risen above the said intimidations and their support for Karish is unwavering.

Rising over intimidation

”The intimidation has failed, the bribery has flopped, and the threats have only hardened the resolve of our people. Mbeere North is awake. And now we focus on the decisive moment, the 27th of this month, when the people of Mbeere North will walk to the ballot and deliver a message Kenya cannot ignore,” Muturi said.

The former National Assembly Speaker has described Newton Karish as the true identity of Mbeere North.

”This election is not just about choosing an MP; it is about rejecting manipulation and restoring honest leadership. That is why I stand firmly with Hon. Newton Karish, our party’s candidate and the true voice of the people. The man ready to defend our community, fight for our rights, and return integrity to leadership. On the 27th, Mbeere North will choose courage over fear, truth over propaganda, and progress over stagnation. Karish is the choice. The people are ready. The change is unstoppable,” Justin Muturi asserted.
