Jubilee settles on Wilson Kigwa as candidate for Ol Kalou by-election
The Jubilee Party has announced that Wilson Kigwa is its flagbearer for the upcoming Ol Kalou Constituency by-election.
In a statement on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the party noted that the decision to settle on Kigwa was a structured selection process guided by its constitution and internal organs.
The party said the decision was reached after consultations involving the National Elections Board, relevant party structures, and engagement with qualified aspirants who expressed interest in the ticket.

“Following consultations guided by the Party Constitution, the National Elections Board, relevant party organs, and engagement with qualified aspirants, the party has settled on Eng. Wilson Kigwa as the Jubilee Party candidate in the Olkalou constituency by-election,” the party stated.
The by-election, scheduled for July 16, 2026, was triggered by the passing of David Njuguna Kiaraho on March 29, 2026. Kiaraho was elected through the Jubilee Party.
Jubilee applications
The party stated that they received applications from several qualified and committed aspirants from across the constituency, demonstrating the continued confidence that the people of Ol Kalou have in the Jubilee Party and its vision for the future of our nation.
The selection of Kigwa comes at a time of heightened political activity in the region ahead of the polls.
The Ol Kalou contest is widely viewed as a litmus test for party supremacy, involving the Jubilee against the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).

“Jubilee Party remains stronger, more focused, and more prepared than ever before. We are fully mobilised and ready to engage the people of Ol Kalou with a message of hope, development, unity, and accountable leadership,” Kenta stated.
“In the coming days, the party leadership, grassroots structures, and supporters will camp in the constituency to vigorously campaign for our candidate and to popularise the renewed vision and agenda of the Party.”
