Opposition unity unshakable
Kalonzo maintained that the opposition remains united ahead of the 2027 General Election. He dismissed efforts to divide key leaders within the bloc, saying their bond is deeply rooted.
“Nataka Wakenya wajue you will never separate Kalonzo from Rigathi Gachagua, Martha Karua, Justin Muturi, it is not possible, don’t waste any effort, because it is in our blood now,” he said.
He further asserted that the opposition cannot lose if the electoral process is democratic, citing their numerical strength. “Tumeona ile makosa and for us it is not even possible to lose an election if we are going democratically because this community is already a majority, and I can see why they are panicking,” he stated, adding that the bloc remains confident and unafraid as the elections draw closer.

Criticism of Ruto–Moi alliance
Kalonzo criticised President Ruto’s alliance with KANU Chairman Gideon Moi, which was formalised on October 10, 2025, at State House. Moi shelved his Baringo senatorial ambitions to join the Kenya Kwanza administration, a move Kalonzo described as a political distraction.
He cautioned Moi to focus on his new role but distance himself from Ruto’s government before the elections. “We will reach out to William Ruto himself and tell him wachana na kusumbua Gideon Moi na Gideon Moi hata ilipatiwa hiyo kazi, we chukua fanya kazi na uchaguzi ikifika wachana na William Ruto aroast alone because he has committed economic crimes,” Kalonzo said.
Opposition leaders
Gachagua echoed Kalonzo’s remarks, accusing the president of preaching unity while sowing division in Mount Kenya. “Ruto ameita Gideon Moi, wameongea, na akasema anaunganisha watu wake huko nyumbani ndio apate amani na hataki sisi tuwe na amani hapa Mlima Kenya,” Gachagua stated, vowing to protect the region’s unity.
Martha Karua, speaking during a rally in Embu on October 11, 2025, accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of corruption and assured Kenyans of the opposition’s commitment. “We are together and ready to work for you… He has trampled on our rights, and when we take the government, we must return the property stolen,” she said.
The united front by Kalonzo, Gachagua, and Karua highlights the opposition’s coordinated strategy as they gear up for the 2027 General Election.
