Ichung’wah vows to rally Kiambu County to record-breaking support for Ruto
National Assembly Leader Kimani Ichungw’ah has vowed to rally the Kiambu region to overwhelmingly back President William Ruto’s reelection bid.
Speaking on Monday, December 15, 2025, during a United Democratic Party mobilisation drive in Kiambu, Ichungw’ah emphasised that the president’s reelection remains a priority, stressing that he will be working around the clock to get it done.
Majority votes for Ruto
“We have to make sure that come 2027, we will work hard and make sure Kiambu County will cast the majority of votes for William Ruto for his second term as president. I am saying this because I have seen the plans he has for the people of Kiambu.
Ichung’wah stated that the objective remains crucial in ensuring that he also retains his majority seat in the National Assembly as he seeks his fourth term as the representative of the people of the Kikuyu constituency as well.
“It is those majority votes that gave us the majority seat in the National Assembly, and I also want to ask you to make me a four-term member of parliament,” he implored the residents.

He also urged the residents to rally behind the ruling party and elected members of the party across the various elective positions from the ward level to the presidency.
Ichungw’ah’s sentiments mirror those of Muranga women’s representative, Betty Maina, who asserted that Ruto’s second term was already assured. Speaking while accompanying Ruto to Gatundu North on Sunday, Maina expressed optimism that the region would back the president in unison.
Two-term
“Sisi ni watu wako na hatujaficha. In fact, ni mimi nang’ang’ana kutafuta kura yangu ya two terms, yako ya two terms ishapatikana,” she stated.
Maina, who has consistently defended Ruto’s administration, reiterated her allegiance to the head of state and agenda under the Kenya Kwanza government.
“We will support you, Mr President, and wherever you go, we will go, and your people will be our people,” she added.
The UDA party faces a tough task in consolidating its support in the larger Mt Kenya region following the president’s fallout with his estranged former deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua, in 2024.
