Ichung’wah launches scathing attack on Gachagua over his development record

Kikuyu MP and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has launched a scathing attack on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of sabotaging development efforts and misusing public funds during his tenure.
Speaking during a bodaboda economic empowerment drive at Uruu Stadium in Tigania West, Ichung’wah claimed Gachagua failed to deliver any tangible development while in office and instead promoted tribalism and personal gain.
“What did you do for Kenyans apart from looting the empowerment fund to build hotels with your wife?” Ichung’wah posed.
The vocal legislator reprimanded Gachagua, claiming he lacks vision and the agenda to steer the nation forward.
Praises Kindiki
After questioning Gachagua’s development track record, the MP praised his successor, Kithure Kindiki, for leading nationwide economic empowerment drives to uplift millions of Kenyans
He specifically hailed the Nyota Programme, which he insisted had helped most youth-owned businesses to take off.
Gachagua has publicly criticised these initiatives, claiming that they were creating avenues for the misuse of funds and political bribery under the guise of empowerment.
Responding to Gachagua’s claims, Ichung’wah described the former deputy president as a bitter and selfish figure more focused on party squabbles than national progress.
“Gachagua is not only out of touch with the Kenya Kwanza agenda, he is the very enemy of development,” the lawmaker insisted.
Supported by area MPs John Mutunga (Tigania West), Mugambi Rindikiri (Buuri), and central Imenti legislator Moses Kirima, drummed up support for DP Kindiki and the Kenya Kwanza government for focusing on fulfilling the campaign pledges.
The leaders urged the public to rally behind Kindiki and President William Ruto’s bottom-up economic model, which they say is transforming lives through affordable housing and small business support.
