United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Hassan Omar has responded to the recent criticism directed at the Kenya Kwanza government, stressing that the current administration will stay put and serve a second term.

Speaking while meeting a delegation of Akamba leaders in Nairobi on Monday, September 29, 2025, Omar defended Kenya Kwanza’s record against the current criticism directed at the Ruto government, which recently marked three years at the helm.

The former senator asserted that the current administration will remain and form the next government.

Omar warned that the silence should not be misconstrued as weakness. He also voiced his support for the move by the government to transition all public procurements to an electronic platform, emphasising that most of the government criticism came from individuals intent on swindling the government of the taxpayers’ money.

“Do not see us silent, we know what’s going on,” he added. “This party is run on plans and strategies. We have plans to transform the system and enable our children to achieve their dreams and a high-quality education,” he added.

“I have noted most of the people complaining are staying in hotels while dining in wines. It is because the chance to enrich themselves via tenders has now been made impossible through e-procurement. We are bringing equity among Kenyans. Now you have to face Kenyans through the system,” he stated.

Omar’s sentiments come as Ruto’s administration continues to face huge backlash of its economic policies, human rights records and developmental agenda

Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka recently accused the president of misleading the international community on democracy and human rights.

On his part, Rigathi Gachagua,  the DCP boss, accused Ruto of hypocrisy, claiming that he condemned abductions in Haiti while presiding over the same practice back home.
