Gachagua’s DCP appoints 3 new NEC members after November by-elections

The Democracy For Citizens Party (DCP) has appointed three of its candidates in the concluded by-election to the party’s governing body, the National Executive Committee (NEC).

Newly elected Member of County Assembly (MCA) Sainare Saidimu, who clinched the Purko ward seat in Kajiado County, and Stanley Kenga, who unsuccessfully contested the Magarini parliamentary seat, are among the party officials joining the party, according to a communication released on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

Joining the pair is Edgar Busiega, who was prevailed upon to step down for Seth Panyako days before the Malava parliamentary by-elections on November 27, 2025.

Busiega, a lawyer by profession, committed to remaining loyal to the party and vowed to leverage his competencies in legal representation for the party’s good afterwards.

After shelving his parliamentary ambitions, Busiega was promised a direct nomination slot to Parliament in 2027 by the party’s deputy party leader, Cleophas Malala.

In a subsequent statement, the DCP party also lauded the three for showing solidarity with the party during the concluded elections.

“Congratulations to Hon. Simon Sanare, Hon. Stanley Kenga and Hon. Wakili Edga Busiega from Kajiado, Kilifi and Kakamega counties on your appointment to the DCP PARTY NEC. You stood with the people of Kenya and DCP party during the 27th November 2025 by-elections,” the party statement read.

The foregoing comes days after Gachagua announced plans to continue popularising the seven-month-old party through outreach.

Taking to his X page on Friday, November 28, 2025, the former DP revealed that he would be heading to the coastal region of Kenya to drive the party’s recruitment exercise and open new offices in the region heavily dominated by the Orange Democratic Movement.

“This now gives an entry into the Coast Region. I will be on the Coast over the holiday season to meet possible aspirants and establish party offices. Well done, Stanley. We are proud of you!” He stated while commenting on the DCP party’s first-ever candidate to contest an elective seat in the region.

“Congratulations, Hon. Stanley Karissa Kenga, our candidate in Magarani, for such a strong showing. For a new party—@DCP_Democracy—with no previous inroads in the Coast region, a credible second is more than acceptable,” he added.
