Former speaker Ken Marende officially joins Wamunyinyi’s DAP-Kenya party
Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyi’s Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) recieved a fresh lease of life after former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende joined the political vehicle.
Marende was received at the party’s headquarters on Monday, January 24, by Wamunyinyi and Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa who is the party’s patron.
The former speaker joins a host of other leaders from Western Kenya who denounced their previous political parties in favour of DAP-K.
On Saturday, January 22, Lugari MP defected from Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC) where he was the de facto deputy party leader to DAP-K where he assumed the same position.
Savula was received by Wamunyinyi and CS Wamalwa at the party’s headquarters.
“I’m announcing my defection from ANC to DAP-K where I will serve in the same capacity as deputy party leader. I have the blessings of my family and my constituents,” Savula said.
Wamunyinyi said Savula brought with him his wealth of experience in politics to DAP-K as the deputy party leader.
“We welcome him to Chui House (party headquarters) and we hope he comes with his wealth of experience. He quit OKA because the formation is moving towards Tanga Tanga,” Wamunyinyi said.
