DP is not a village outfit, Muturi says

The National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has defended the Democratic Party (DP) saying it is not a village or a briefcase party.
“Those saying that DP is a village or even a briefcase party should know that it’s a party that gave Kenya a president in 2002,” Muturi said.
Muturi, who is a presidential candidate on DP, spoke in Kutus where he received blessings from elders.
“I caution central Kenya politicians and people from supporting foreign parties. The region has parties that should be supported,” Muturi said.
Nyanza residents are comfortable in ODM and that is why it has so many leaders from those region.
“Politicians who say that parties from central Kenya are tribal should focus on representation and not their selfishness,” Muturi added.
Muturi was responding to remarks that were made by Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru who termed other parties that are not supporting Deputy President William Ruto as briefcase parties.
