‘Wacheni kua watu wa kuchochea’ – Senator Cheruiyot hits out at journalists over Ruto-Gachagua rift

By , June 9, 2024

Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has taken a swipe at journalists over the coverage of the supposed rift in the Kenya Kwanza regime.

Addressing a crowd, the senator asked journalists in the country to refrain from exaggerating assumptions on the claimed fallout between President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.

Cheruiyot particularly pointed out that a section of the media had reported that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) was planning a crisis meeting after speculations were rife over the fallout between the two leaders.

He, however, indicated that the purpose of their meeting was to discuss the progress of the ruling party’s grassroots elections already conducted in five counties.

The senator maintained that journalists should uphold truth and refrain from fanning issues to further cause problems within the coalition.

He emphasised that the regime was cemented on prayers and called on Kenyans to pray for the president and his deputy for the government to rise and serve its people accordingly.
