Cherargei tears into Malala over fake political dramas
By Kiprono Keileb, November 27, 2025Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has launched an attack on DCP deputy party leader Cleophas Malala, calling him out for what he said was deliberately misleading the country with what he termed fictitious narratives surrounding the ongoing by-elections.
His remarks come as tensions remain high in several polling areas, with both government and opposition leaders trading accusations over security, bribery, and election interference.
In a post on X on Thursday, November 27, 2025, Cherargei claimed Malala had been fueling unnecessary drama in an attempt to influence public opinion during the hotly contested mini-polls.

“Malala is a play script writer that’s busying trying to mislead the country on the ongoing by-elections by creating imaginary endless dramas, theatrics & fiction of fake abductions, kidnappings & bribery allegations for sympathy votes for dis-united opposition candidates,” he stated.
Cherargei added that Malala’s actions were aimed at confusing the public and painting the electoral process as chaotic.
“Kenyans should know it’s just a comedy play by Malala. He was busy throughout the night creating fake news. He must now rest, that’s enough!” he stated.

The senator said the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) must remain firm and avoid being swayed by political noise or intimidation during the voting process.
“IEBC should not be intimidated or blackmailed by these unnecessary distractions. They should carry out their constitutional mandate without fear,” he stated.
Cherargei urged voters in by-election regions to ignore what he described as theatrics and instead turn out in large numbers to support candidates allied to the ruling coalition. He framed the by-elections as a defining moment for Kenya’s political future.
“Kenyans in by-election areas should come out in large numbers and vote for our broad-based candidates to solidify our future,” he stated.

According to Cherargei, the stakes are high, and the outcomes could shape national political alignments moving forward.
“The outcome of these by-elections will determine the future of our politics in Kenya and draw the line to the formations,” he stated.
He concluded by calling on voters to remain peaceful after casting their ballots.
“Vote and go home, but remain peaceful,” he concluded.
