Caleb Amisi reveals details of his meeting with Tuju
By Mustafa Juma, May 5, 2026Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has revealed details of his meeting with former Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju.
Taking to his official X account on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Amisi said that his meeting with the former Rarieda MP focused on what he described as Kenya’s urgent need for political and economic renewal.
Amisi said the engagement also centred on charting a path toward what he termed a national “rebirth, renewal and renaissance”.
He described the talks as wide-ranging, touching on key issues shaping the country’s political direction.
“Today I held a discussion with my elder brother, a fellow Starehe alumnus, Hon. Raphael Tuju. Our morning discussion touched on the best path toward Kenya’s much-needed rebirth, renewal, and renaissance,” Amisi stated.
He added that the conversation explored ideas on governance, leadership, and the broader trajectory of the nation.

Amisi praises Tuju
The MP praised Tuju, a seasoned political figure, for his depth of experience and insight into Kenya’s political history.
“I am delighted to learn from his wealth of knowledge in the political journey of our country,” Amisi said.
He noted that the engagement provided an opportunity to draw lessons from past leadership experiences and apply them to current challenges.
Amisi said part of the discussion focused on what he termed “bad politics of regionalism”, warning that ethnic and regional divisions continue to undermine national unity.
He suggested that moving away from such politics is key to achieving meaningful transformation in the country.
The Saboti MP also pointed to the growing youth population as both a challenge and an opportunity.
“I imbibed from his cup of wisdom and shared a lot on the bad politics of regionalism as well as the growing youth population bulge. Kenya needs a Renaissance,” Amisi wrote on X.

The meeting comes at a time when political leaders are increasingly engaging in consultations and strategic discussions ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Linda Mwananchi politics
The meeting comes moments after Amisi lifted the lid on the formation of the emerging Linda Mwananchi political movement, detailing how it evolved from informal dissent into an organised platform bringing together leaders from across the country.
Speaking on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, during an interview with K24 TV, Amisi described himself as the founder of the movement, saying it was born out of a perceived leadership gap and growing public frustration with existing political formations.
Amisi said he decided to publicly claim ownership of the initiative after seeing speculation linking the movement to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“I saw a lot of attacks on the former president and the way he was being linked to Linda Mwananchi, and I said I am the founder,” Amisi stated.
He added that anyone seeking clarity on the movement’s operations should direct their questions to him.
“If you have any questions about how Linda Mwananchi operates, ask me, because I am the founder,” he added.
