Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has issued a fiery call for youth mobilisation, framing it as a “generation call to action” ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Taking to his official X account on Sunday, May 17, 2026, Amisi urged young people to challenge what he termed a “stubborn status quo” during the next election.

He argued that Kenya is due for what he described as a “fourth and final economic liberation”.

Amisi said the youth of the country were increasingly aware of the need for systemic change and must take a more active role in shaping Kenya’s political and economic direction.

“The youth of the nation are very clear. It is time to disturb the stubborn status quo. Lets change the game from the usual monkeys different forest,” Amisi wrote on X.

He added that the current system required a complete rethink, arguing that young people should not continue operating within what he described as outdated political structures.

“It is a generation call for action. The fourth and final economic liberation of Kenya,” he stated.

In his remarks, Amisi used symbolic and metaphorical language to emphasise his message, saying the political system needed disruption in order to deliver meaningful change.

“Hii tumeshika hatuwachilii ata muliie. Kenya needs renaissance!” Amisi stated.

Youth at the centre of 2027 politics

Amisi’s comments come at a time when youth participation is expected to play a major role in shaping the 2027 elections, with politicians increasingly targeting Gen Z and millennial voters in their messaging.

There has been a growing competition among leaders to position themselves as champions of economic transformation and generational change.

Both the opposition and the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration are banking on Gen Z votes in the 2027 general election.

Opposition and Gen Z

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has accused the current administration of spending huge amounts of money on propaganda aimed at creating divisions between opposition leaders and Gen Z activists.

Taking to his X account on May 14, 2026, Matiang’i claimed that senior government officials are behind what he termed as coordinated attempts to sow discord among Kenyans opposed to the current administration.

“Sasa mimi nikuambie tu ukweli, hayo ni mambo yanayo endeshwa na hawa wakubwa walioko kwa serikali. Kwa sababu hiyo porojo wao wanafikiri ndiyo itwaleta mgawanyiko kati yetu na Gen Z, kwa sababu hakuna kitu wanaogopa kama sisi wote kuungana pamoja,” Matiang’i stated.
