Burial date set for the late Bonchari MP

Bonchari Member of Parliament, John Oroo Oyioka, who died on Monday at Aga Khan hospital, Kisumu County, will be buried on  Friday February 26.

Kisii county funeral committee chairman, Geoffrey Mogire said the feneral service will be conducted at Itierio secondary school ground and he will be interred at his residence, a stone throw from Suneka town.

Mogire, accompanied by coordinator, John Ombati, Bomorenda Ward Representative and  his Riana colleague, Vincent Moisabi said residents will not allow political leaders to disrupt the funeral.

“Kisii and Nairobi Committees have organized a major funds drive on Wednesday next week to help in the funeral arrangement. I urge well wishers to support the family,” Mogire said, adding Borabu MP, Ben Momanyi is chairing the Nairobi Committee.

He said the Committee has set up a Whatsup Group for channeling funds towards preparation for the funeral and is meeting daily at his residence for funds drives and finalizing the burial arrangement.
