Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi has expressed concern over voter apathy witnessed across various polling stations in the county.

Speaking at Shimoni Primary School polling station after casting his vote on Thursday, November 27, 2025, Cheboi said that residents ought to take seriously the constitutional obligation of making a choice of leaders they deem fit to run their affairs.

He called on residents to take the exercise seriously and come out in large numbers to cast their votes before the official time closes.

“I have travelled all the way here as your governor to play my noble duty of casting a vote. Patriotic Kenyans should always participate in such duties so that we can have credible and accountable leaders”, he said.

He said that there is a considerable level of security around the polling stations, and people should not have any doubts about their safety during the exercise.

Cheboi further said that the assumption by some of the locals that they participated in the nominations and, as such, had concluded the process could be one of the reasons that the majority of them have not turned up.

Eladama Ravine constituency is among the six constituencies making up Baringo County. The constituency has the highest number of voters in the county, with 64,074 voters spread across 163 polling stations expected to vote today.
