Kimilili Member of Parliament (MP) Didmus Barasa was on Tuesday forced to apologize to Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris for allegedly insulting and threatening her.

Barasa was asked by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi to withdraw the statement he made on Thursday last week.

Barasa had referred to Passaris as ‘stupid’ and threatened to punch her on the face.

Barasa said: “ I apologise to Hon Passari and withdraw my remarks. I equally invite her for dinner today at 7:30 pm.”

Muturi asked Barasa to apologize to the house after he was provided with a hansard report showing the remarks made by Barasa during debate on a report on Wajir County Woman Rep Fatuma Gedi that had recommended that she be disciplined for conducting herself in a manner that portrayed the assembly and its members negatively.
