Bahati MP Irene Njoki: We will ensure Ruto is re-elected in 2027
By Ndiritu Wanjiru, June 21, 2026Bahati Member of Parliament Irene Njoki has pledged to mobilise support for President William Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027, saying leaders allied to the Kenya Kwanza administration are determined to ensure the head of state secures a second term.
Speaking on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in Uasin Gishu County during Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s tour of the region, the Bahati lawmaker defended the government’s political strategy and called on supporters to remain united behind President William Ruto.
The first-time lawmaker has said leaders backing the president had a responsibility to engage with different communities and political groups in order to strengthen support for the Kenya Kwanza administration ahead of the next general election.
“We are here because we took on the task of bringing our people forward. And that is why we cannot put all of us on a pedestal. There is one who will take on the task of telling others about whom he cannot talk,” she said.

The MP argued that leaders allied to the government were merely reciprocating the political support they had received from President Ruto by reaching out to other regions and constituencies on his behalf.
“What we are doing, we are doing because we know what he has done for us,” she posed.
Ruto’s re-election bid
Njoki went on to make a bold declaration regarding the 2027 presidential contest, assuring supporters that Kenya Kwanza leaders would work tirelessly to secure another victory for President Ruto.
“And we will make sure that William Samoei Ruto will be elected president of the Republic of Kenya in 2027,” she stated.

Her remarks came as Deputy President Kindiki continued his engagements in Uasin Gishu County, where he has been meeting residents, local leaders and development stakeholders while outlining the government’s development agenda.
The comments also reflect the growing political mobilisation within Kenya Kwanza as leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 elections, with allies of President Ruto increasingly using public forums to rally support for his anticipated re-election campaign.
