Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has called on Kenyans with leadership goals to declare their interest in different elective positions ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Taking to his X account on Friday, May 15, 2026, Amisi stated that the country needs a fresh wave of leaders across all levels of government with the aim of replacing the current regime of President William Ruto.

“Good morning, Kenyans. Another day to remind all those who mean well for the nation to present themselves for election in different capacities: MCA, MP, Senator, Governor, and President or forever hold your peace,” Amisi said.

Political slogans not enough

He cautioned that political slogans alone would not be enough to drive change.

The MP further argued that meaningful transformation must be backed by the election of competent leaders at all levels of government.

Amisi also stressed that calls for political change must go hand in hand with the election of capable representatives, adding that governance outcomes depend not only on the presidency but also on county and parliamentary leadership.

“After 2027 election, there will be no chance to sing Ruto must go. Wewe ndio utaenda. Ruto must go must also be accompanied with good MPs and Governors . We must change the country in 2027. Kenya needs a renaissance!” Amisi said.

Ruto’s current political rating

The remarks by Amisi come amid the new survey released by TIFA Research on May 14, 2026, revealing that President Ruto has emerged as the leading choice to win the 2027 presidential election.

The poll places Ruto at 24 per cent support, ahead of Kalonzo Musyoka at 19 per cent and Fred Matiang’i at 14 per cent.

Edwin Sifuna follows with 10 per cent, while former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua stands at 9 per cent. Other candidates account for 3 per cent, while 15 per cent of respondents remain undecided.

TIFA said the race remains competitive despite Ruto holding the strongest single position.

“The 2027 presidential race remains highly fluid, with no single candidate commanding dominant national support,” the report stated.
