Trans Nzoia: Wamalwa concedes defeat, congratulates Natembeya

Outgoing Kiminini Constituency Member of Parliament Chris Wamalwa conceded defeat and congratulated his competitor George Natembeya hours before Trans Nzoia gubernatorial race results were officially declared by the County Returning officer.

In a tweet, Wamalwa, who ran on a Ford Kenya party ticket, admitted he was not successful in the race.

“The Elections are now over and the results are out. I have not been successful in my quest to be the second Governor of our great County” the tweet read in part.

The vocal lawmaker recognized his creator and supporters in the race.

“I thank the Almighty God, all my supporters, from both far and near, for their unyielding support. Receive my eternal gratitude” he said.

Wamalwa who enjoyed the support of Kenya Kwanza Alliance principals honoured his constituents for electing him twice to the National Assembly.

“I thank the great people of Kiminini Constituency for giving me the opportunity to be their MP for two terms” he added.

He also thanked the Ford Kenya party, supporters and people who volunteered to support his campaign.

“I thank my Party Ford Kenya for its support. My heartfelt gratitude to the party supporters and volunteers who have worked so hard in this campaign” he said.

The ambitious academician turned politician congratulated the former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya and wished him well in his service to the people of Trans Nzoia.

“I congratulate my Brother George Natembeya on his victory. I wish him well,” he tweeted.
